Moonshot LA Freelance
WAVES
It began as a virtual meditative instrument in a VR experience and developed into a music visualizer for the VR space. Waves was the one project that would allow the user to choose their music from their favorite artists to play over visualizations created in accordance to specific parameters. Naturally, not much composing was needed on my end other than the lobby area music presented before entering the experience. The key to the track was encompassing the musical elements of the previous projects while including a more percussive and modern feel.
SPRING
Spring was my first assignment at Moonshot and was a great introduction to what the company is all about. Entertaining content that is both challenging and relaxing. I helped curate the music for all the levels of the project and had fun composing the lobby music, that is also heard on this trailer for the free VR game.
FLOW
Flow is the tunnel based project that allows the user to “flow” through the psychedelic experiences the visual team had created. It was a challenging but fun curating experience. When creating the lobby area music I tried to capture that creativity and movement, that we captured as a team, in this track.
MOOD Trailer
MOOD
Working with the innovative content creators at Moonshot, allowed me to explore the world of sound design and create compositions geared toward relaxation and meditation. “Enter Mood” is a piece I wrote for the audio track during the load up page of the transition between the lobby area and the VR experience.
TUBI Spots for Ad campaign
Six spot campaign.
I was approached by a friend who was working with the company INSYNC Plus, and they were in charge of Tubi’s fall campaign that year. I was still midway through my graduate studies and saw it as a perfect opportunity to exercise all of the things I had been learning. The turnaround time was 24 hours so I spent all day writing and recording music for the first three videos. I was hired for the rest of the videos and put in all of my time and attention to the project.
Working with silence.
The hardest part of the entire project was nailing the amount of music needed and when it would be introduced. I worked alongside with the creative department in experimenting with different cues, and ultimately we went with a lighter score that left room for silence to add to the humor of the videos.
